Discover
I explored how Nerf’s playful identity could be translated into footwear. This phase focused on understanding sneaker culture, toy-inspired aesthetics, and how speculative design can open new perspectives on brand extension.
Define
The project was framed as a “what if” scenario: What if Nerf made sneakers for kids? This definition helped narrow down the design direction while keeping the process exploratory and open-ended.
Develop
Together with support from former adidas designer Ruben Eriksson, I sketched and refined concepts. I used the sketches as discovery, finding problems and few ideas through the medium. I later used Blender to translat the ideas into a 3D model, experimenting with form, detail, and proportions while keeping the reference strong to the favourite sketch.
Deliver
The final concept was communicated both visually and narratively. Alongside the 3D model, I produced a frame-by-frame hand-drawn animation styled as an ad, merging product visualization with storytelling to capture the playful spirit of the sneaker.
NERF: Sneaker Concept
“What if Nerf made sneakers? This speculative project imagines a playful crossover between toy design and footwear. Starting from sketches with guidance from former adidas designer Ruben Eriksson, I further developed the concept in Blender and built a storytelling layer through frame-by-frame cartoon animation. This project combining product design, visualization, and narrative skills. (and my passion for toys!)

Learnings & Reflections
This project was pure creative freedom—I explored what happens when footwear collides with play, toy design, and brand storytelling. This meant diving deep into aesthetics, identity, and the details that make a concept feel true to NERF’s world. I learned how powerful storytelling is when translating a brand into something unexpected.
